    Wolfe Media, Inc. (“Wolfe Media,” “Legal Line,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of users of Legal Line.

    This Privacy Policy explains how Wolfe Media may collect, use, process, disclose, transmit, retain, and protect information in connection with Legal Line websites, webpages, forms, and related online services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Site”).

    Legal Line websites may be branded with or promoted by participating radio stations, television stations, media companies, or other media partners (each a “Participating Station”). Participating attorneys and law firms may also be displayed on the Site.

    This Privacy Policy applies to information handled by Wolfe Media through the Site. Information independently collected by a Participating Station, attorney, law firm, or other third party may be governed by that party’s own privacy policy.

    Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.

    1. HOW LEGAL LINE WORKS

    Legal Line provides general legal information and allows consumers, where available, to submit a legal question or inquiry to a participating law firm selected by the consumer.

    There is no charge to a consumer to submit a question through Legal Line.

    Participating law firms pay a fee to participate in the Legal Line program.

    Wolfe Media does not sell consumer submissions or personal information to participating law firms.

    When a consumer selects a participating law firm and submits a question or inquiry, the consumer is directing Wolfe Media to attempt to transmit the information submitted to that selected law firm.

    Wolfe Media does not select, rank, or match a consumer with an attorney based upon an evaluation of the consumer’s legal needs.

    2. INFORMATION YOU MAY PROVIDE TO US

    Depending upon how you use the Site, you may provide information including:

    • your name;
    • email address;
    • telephone number;
    • city, state, ZIP code, or other location information;
    • the participating law firm you select;
    • the subject or category of your legal question;
    • the contents of your legal question or inquiry;
    • information included in an attachment, if attachments are permitted;
    • information contained in communications you send to Wolfe Media; and
    • other information you voluntarily provide through the Site.

    You are not required to submit a Legal Line question.

    If you choose to submit a question, certain contact information may be necessary so that the participating law firm you select can receive the inquiry and potentially contact you.

    3. PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN SUBMITTING SENSITIVE INFORMATION

    Legal questions can involve personal or sensitive circumstances. Information you voluntarily include in a submission could therefore contain personal, financial, medical, family, employment, criminal, or other sensitive information.

    You should provide only information reasonably necessary to describe your general question.

    Unless a participating law firm specifically requests information through an appropriate secure method, please do not submit unnecessary highly sensitive information such as:

    • Social Security numbers;
    • passwords;
    • account login credentials;
    • full bank-account numbers;
    • complete credit- or debit-card numbers;
    • security codes;
    • copies of government-issued identification;
    • complete medical records; or
    • other highly sensitive information unnecessary to your initial inquiry.

    Submitting information through Legal Line does not, by itself, establish an attorney-client relationship or guarantee that the information is protected by attorney-client privilege or another legal privilege.

    Please review the Legal Line Terms of Use for additional information concerning attorney-client relationships, confidentiality, and use of the Site.

    4. INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY

    Like many websites, the Site and companies that assist in operating it may automatically collect certain technical information when you visit or interact with the Site.

    Depending upon the technology being used, this information may include:

    • Internet Protocol (“IP”) address;
    • browser type;
    • operating system;
    • device type;
    • approximate geographic location derived from an IP address;
    • referring website or webpage;
    • pages viewed;
    • links clicked;
    • dates and times of visits;
    • information concerning interaction with forms or Site features;
    • cookie identifiers;
    • device or browser identifiers; and
    • other technical or usage information.

    This information may be used to operate, secure, maintain, diagnose, analyze, and improve the Site.

    5. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

    The Site may use cookies and similar technologies.

    Wolfe Media may use third-party companies to assist with website hosting, analytics, form processing, email transmission, security, website performance, and other technical functions.

    Those providers may process information such as:

    • IP addresses;
    • browser and device information;
    • cookies or similar identifiers;
    • pages visited;
    • website interactions; and
    • technical information necessary to provide their services.

    Third-party technology providers operate under their own terms, contracts, and privacy practices.

    Wolfe Media does not authorize third-party service providers to use the contents of consumer Legal Line submissions for their own unrelated marketing merely because those providers assist in operating the Site.

    7. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

    Wolfe Media may use information collected through the Site to:

    • operate and maintain Legal Line;
    • process a consumer’s submission;
    • attempt to transmit a consumer’s submission to the participating law firm selected by that consumer;
    • communicate with a user concerning a submission or Site issue;
    • administer Site functionality;
    • troubleshoot technical problems;
    • maintain website and information security;
    • detect or prevent fraud, misuse, abuse, or unlawful activity;
    • analyze Site usage and performance;
    • improve Legal Line and the Site;
    • maintain appropriate business and operational records;
    • comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests;
    • establish, exercise, or defend legal rights or claims;
    • enforce the Legal Line Terms of Use or other agreements;
    • protect Wolfe Media, Participating Stations, participating attorneys or law firms, users, or others; and
    • carry out another purpose disclosed to you at the time information is collected or with your authorization.

    Wolfe Media may also use aggregated or deidentified information for legitimate business purposes where permitted by law.

    8. TRANSMISSION OF YOUR QUESTION TO THE LAW FIRM YOU SELECT

    When you select a participating law firm and submit a question or inquiry through Legal Line, you direct and authorize Wolfe Media to attempt to transmit the information you provide to that selected law firm.

    Information transmitted may include:

    • your name;
    • email address;
    • telephone number;
    • other contact information you provide;
    • the law firm you selected;
    • your legal question or inquiry; and
    • other information you voluntarily included in your submission.

    This disclosure is made at your direction so that the participating law firm you selected can receive and consider your inquiry.

    Wolfe Media does not sell your submission or personal information to the law firm.

    The participation fee paid by a participating law firm is a fee to participate in the Legal Line program and is not payment for ownership of your personal information or for the sale of a particular consumer submission.

    9. DELIVERY IS NOT GUARANTEED

    Legal Line is designed to attempt to transmit your submission to the participating law firm you select. However, Wolfe Media cannot guarantee successful electronic transmission.

    Wolfe Media and the Participating Station do not guarantee that any submission will be successfully transmitted, forwarded, delivered, received, opened, read, reviewed, retained, or responded to by the selected attorney or law firm.

    Transmission or delivery may fail or be delayed because of circumstances including:

    • internet outages;
    • network problems;
    • hosting failures;
    • server errors;
    • email delivery failures;
    • spam or junk-mail filters;
    • firewalls;
    • security filtering;
    • software or hardware failures;
    • incorrect, changed, or outdated contact information;
    • third-party service interruptions;
    • cybersecurity incidents;
    • technical errors;
    • user error; or
    • other circumstances affecting electronic communications.

    A confirmation page, automated message, or other indication that a form was submitted does not guarantee that the selected law firm actually received, opened, read, or reviewed the submission.

    Please do not use Legal Line as your sole means of communicating regarding an emergency, urgent legal matter, statute of limitation, court deadline, filing deadline, or other time-sensitive matter.

    10. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A LAW FIRM RECEIVES YOUR SUBMISSION

    If the participating law firm you selected receives your submission and chooses to respond, subsequent communication ordinarily occurs directly between you and that attorney or law firm.

    Legal Line is not intended to serve as an ongoing attorney-client communications portal.

    Wolfe Media and the Participating Station do not control or supervise subsequent communications between you and the law firm.

    Once information has been provided to the law firm you selected, that law firm’s handling of your information may be governed by:

    • the firm’s own privacy practices;
    • its information-security practices;
    • applicable professional obligations;
    • attorney-client confidentiality rules, where applicable;
    • record-retention obligations; and
    • other applicable laws.

    Wolfe Media does not control an independent law firm’s subsequent use, retention, safeguarding, or disclosure of information properly transmitted to that firm.

    You should contact the law firm directly if you have questions regarding its privacy or information-handling practices.

    11. PARTICIPATING STATIONS

    A Participating Station may promote Legal Line, display its branding on or in connection with the Site, link to Legal Line, or otherwise participate in presenting the program to its audience.

    The presence of a Participating Station’s logo, name, call letters, personalities, programming, or other branding does not necessarily mean that the station receives the contents of consumer Legal Line submissions.

    Unless expressly disclosed at the point of collection or otherwise required to operate a particular feature, Wolfe Media does not provide consumer legal-question submissions to a Participating Station merely because that station promotes or brands Legal Line.

    Information a Participating Station independently collects through its own website, apps, advertising systems, registration systems, contests, social-media pages, or other properties is governed by that station’s own privacy practices.

    12. WOLFE MEDIA DOES NOT SELL CONSUMER PERSONAL INFORMATION

    Wolfe Media does not sell consumer personal information or Legal Line submissions.

    Wolfe Media does not operate Legal Line as a business for selling consumer contact information or legal inquiries to third parties.

    Participating attorneys and law firms pay a fee to participate in Legal Line, not to purchase ownership of consumer personal information.

    This does not prevent Wolfe Media from disclosing information:

    • to the law firm specifically selected by a consumer;
    • to service providers necessary to operate the Site;
    • when required or permitted by law;
    • in connection with protecting rights or security; or
    • in connection with a legitimate corporate transaction as described below.

    13. SERVICE PROVIDERS

    Wolfe Media may disclose or make information available to companies that perform services reasonably necessary to operate Legal Line.

    These may include providers of:

    • website hosting;
    • cloud or server infrastructure;
    • email delivery;
    • form processing;
    • information technology;
    • website development and maintenance;
    • cybersecurity;
    • analytics;
    • data backup; and
    • professional or business services.

    These providers may receive or process information only to the extent reasonably necessary to perform their functions or as otherwise permitted by applicable law and their agreements with Wolfe Media.

    14. LEGAL, SAFETY, AND SECURITY DISCLOSURES

    Wolfe Media may disclose information when it reasonably believes disclosure is appropriate or necessary to:

    • comply with applicable law;
    • comply with a subpoena, court order, legal process, or lawful governmental request;
    • investigate suspected fraud, abuse, unlawful activity, or security incidents;
    • enforce our Terms of Use or other agreements;
    • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims;
    • protect the rights, property, safety, or security of Wolfe Media;
    • protect a Participating Station, participating attorney or law firm, user, or another person; or
    • prevent or address technical, security, or operational problems.

    15. BUSINESS TRANSFERS

    If Wolfe Media or the Legal Line business is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar corporate transaction, information associated with the business may be transferred as part of that transaction where permitted by law.

    Any successor’s handling of personal information will remain subject to applicable law.

    16. AGGREGATED AND DEIDENTIFIED INFORMATION

    Wolfe Media may create or use aggregated, statistical, or deidentified information that does not reasonably identify a particular individual.

    For example, Wolfe Media may analyze:

    • the number of visitors to a Legal Line Site;
    • the number of questions submitted;
    • general categories of legal topics selected;
    • general geographic market information;
    • website traffic patterns; or
    • Site performance.

    Wolfe Media may use and disclose aggregated or deidentified information for legitimate business purposes, including evaluating and improving Legal Line, reporting general program performance, and understanding audience usage, where permitted by law.

    We do not represent aggregated or deidentified information as personally identifiable consumer information.

    17. DATA RETENTION

    Wolfe Media may retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and for legitimate operational, legal, security, and recordkeeping purposes.

    Retention periods may depend upon factors including:

    • the type of information involved;
    • the purpose for which it was collected;
    • whether the information is needed to operate the Site;
    • legal or regulatory requirements;
    • security and fraud-prevention considerations;
    • dispute-resolution needs; and
    • the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

    Information may also remain temporarily in backups, logs, email systems, or other technical systems after active use has ended.

    Information already transmitted to an independent law firm may be retained by that firm according to its own policies, professional responsibilities, and applicable law.

    When information is no longer reasonably necessary, Wolfe Media may delete, destroy, anonymize, or deidentify it where appropriate.

    18. SECURITY

    Wolfe Media uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.

    However, no website, email system, internet transmission, database, server, or information-security system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

    Accordingly, Wolfe Media cannot guarantee the absolute security of information submitted through or transmitted by the Site.

    You use electronic communications and submit information through Legal Line with that understanding.

    19. YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES

    You may choose not to provide personal information through Legal Line.

    If you do not provide information necessary to submit a question, however, the Site may not be able to transmit an inquiry to a participating law firm.

    You may contact Wolfe Media at wolfemedia@gmail.com if you:

    • have questions about information Wolfe Media maintains about you;
    • believe information Wolfe Media maintains about you is inaccurate;
    • would like to request deletion of information maintained by Wolfe Media;
    • have a question about Wolfe Media’s privacy practices; or
    • wish to exercise a privacy right that applies to you under applicable law.

    Wolfe Media will consider and respond to applicable requests in accordance with applicable law.

    Certain information may need to be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, operational, or recordkeeping purposes.

    Wolfe Media cannot delete information from an independent participating law firm’s systems. Requests concerning information retained by a participating law firm should be directed to that firm.

    20. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY INFORMATION

    Wolfe Media is based in California.

    California law provides various privacy protections depending upon the nature of a business and its data-processing activities.

    Where a California privacy right applies to Wolfe Media, Wolfe Media will honor that right as required by applicable law.

    Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit a right that cannot lawfully be limited.

    21. CALIFORNIA “SHINE THE LIGHT”

    California Civil Code Section 1798.83 may provide certain California residents with rights concerning disclosure of specified categories of personal information to third parties for those third parties’ own direct-marketing purposes.

    Wolfe Media does not disclose Legal Line consumer personal information to third parties for those third parties’ own direct-marketing purposes in the manner contemplated by that law.

    22. CALIFORNIA DO NOT TRACK DISCLOSURE

    Some web browsers and devices offer a “Do Not Track” or “DNT” setting that may transmit a signal indicating that a user does not want certain online activity tracked.

    There is not currently a universally accepted technical or legal standard governing traditional DNT signals.

    Accordingly, the Site does not necessarily respond to or alter its practices in response to ordinary browser Do Not Track signals.

    Third-party service providers used for analytics, hosting, security, or other website functions may collect information about Site activity over time or across different websites, depending upon the technology involved and the provider’s practices.

    Where Wolfe Media is legally required to recognize or respond to a particular browser-based privacy preference signal or other legally recognized opt-out mechanism, Wolfe Media will do so as required by applicable law.

    23. THIRD-PARTY TRACKING

    Third parties that provide website hosting, analytics, security, embedded content, or other technical services may use cookies or similar technology through the Site.

    Depending upon the technology being used, those third parties may collect information concerning a user’s browser, device, Site interactions, or visits over time.

    Wolfe Media does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties.

    Users should review the privacy information provided by applicable third-party services when appropriate.

    24. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES

    The Site may contain links to websites operated by:

    • participating attorneys or law firms;
    • Participating Stations;
    • advertisers;
    • sponsors;
    • social-media services; or
    • other third parties.

    Wolfe Media does not control independent third-party websites.

    This Privacy Policy does not govern information you provide directly to an independent third party through that party’s website or service.

    We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party website you visit.

    25. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

    Legal Line is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13.

    Wolfe Media does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 in circumstances requiring parental consent under applicable law.

    If Wolfe Media learns that it collected personal information from a child under 13 in circumstances in which such collection was not permitted, Wolfe Media will take reasonable steps to delete the information.

    A parent or guardian who believes a child has improperly submitted personal information may contact Wolfe Media at wolfemedia@gmail.com.

    26. INTERNATIONAL USERS

    Legal Line is operated primarily for users in the United States.

    If you access the Site from outside the United States, information you submit may be transmitted to, stored in, or processed in the United States or in another location where a service provider operates.

    Privacy and data-protection laws may differ among jurisdictions.

    By submitting information through the Site, you understand that information may be processed in the United States in connection with providing the requested service, subject to applicable law.

    27. EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS

    If Wolfe Media sends promotional email communications and applicable law requires an opt-out mechanism, the communication will provide an appropriate method for unsubscribing.

    An opt-out from promotional email does not prevent Wolfe Media from sending non-promotional communications reasonably necessary to:

    • respond to a request;
    • address a security or technical matter;
    • provide an administrative notice; or
    • communicate concerning an existing business relationship.

    Communications sent directly by a participating attorney or law firm are controlled by that attorney or firm, not Wolfe Media.

    28. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

    Wolfe Media may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:

    • Legal Line operations;
    • website technology;
    • privacy practices;
    • service providers;
    • applicable law; or
    • other circumstances.

    When this Privacy Policy is updated, Wolfe Media will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of the policy.

    If applicable law requires additional notice of a material change, Wolfe Media will provide such notice in the manner required by law.

    We encourage users to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

    29. RELATIONSHIP TO THE TERMS OF USE

    This Privacy Policy should be read together with the Legal Line Terms of Use.

    The Terms of Use contain important provisions concerning:

    • the nature of Legal Line;
    • transmission of submissions;
    • failure of electronic delivery;
    • attorney-client relationships;
    • legal deadlines;
    • participating attorneys and law firms;

    • limitations of responsibility.
