      • We owned a business and an employee stole from one of our clients. We had to pay the client back. The court ordered the employee to repay the business but she never has. We have since sold the business. I consider it wrong that the legal system has allowed her to basically get off free on this. There seems to be no checks & balances on this type thing. Any chance we can still recoup the loss?
      • My wife and I got married about 3 yrs ago. Her then 5 year old daughter who has come to call me dad has not had any contact with her bio. father. I was wondering what I had to do to get the adoption process going and an approximate cost?
      • Are there any attorneys in Wichita who could help me with my custody and child support issues that are out of control right now? I do not even have visitation like I should. She moved out of state without notifying me. I am currently paying child support, back child support, and paying insurance coverage for two children I have not seen in 5 years. My wife and daughter now are suffering because of this.
      • What does mean in a Kansas court that charges are dropped due to insufficient legal evidence as a whole?
      • My boyfriend has been paying a very high premium on his insurance. When checking around, he found that it showed an accident on his record. The information was not correct. There was no accident. So basically they had the information incorrect all this time and charging higher premiums for him. Is there any way he can get the extra money that he paid back. It was their mistake, and I have heard of this happening often for them to get more money.
      • My husband just found out that the mother of his child no longer is carrying insurance on the child even though she is the one who is suppose to. A Kansas court said that they couldn't make her carry insurance. What can we do to make her get insurance, if anything?
      • According to Kansas bankruptcy law, if my house is part of my bankruptcy how long can we stay here without making a payment?
      • When a 12-year old child decides he wants to live with the non custodial parent – does that require a new court order or can the child just say he wants to leave his primary house and go?
      • My son’s father has had nothing to do with him since last December and I want to get his rights taken away and have complete custody of him. I don’t want anything to do with him and I want to change my son’s last name to mine. And I wanted to know how much it might cost so I can save money and get it done.
      • My ex husband and I have 50/50 custody of our 12 year old son. Not one parent has residential rights set up. I now live in KS and he lives in OK. My son has is currently living with me and the divorce was set in Kansas. What steps do I need to take to regain residential rights? Can the venue be changed? My ex is bringing up my son living with him again and I am afraid to let him go visit because he has kept him in the past. My son lived with his father for a year when he went on a two week visit for his birthday. I would really like to resolve this and have guidelines, boundaries and rules setup to protect my son and myself.
      • Wondering if its worth the time and effort to take my ex-wife to court and ask for child support. We've been divorced for 5 yrs now and the judge left it open for later review. At what age does my minor son have the right to not visit his mother if he chooses? ?
      • I am the father of two children 12 and 10. I have residential custody of them. At what age can they decide that they do not want to go and visit their mom?
      • I'm 16 and right now my boyfriend is 22. How old do I need to be before we can legally get married and he wouldn't get in trouble/
      • I have been paying on a hospital bill through a collection agency. On my last statement I noticed that the amount due had increased by almost $3000. I called the agency and was informed that the hospital had submitted another bill. I was also informed that this bill went back to 9/11/06. I went through my records and had no bills with that date. That remained unpaid. I also called my insurance provider and was told that only one bill was submitted for that date and it had been paid I did have record of this bill. I have requested a copy of the charges from the collection agency and as of yet have not received anything. They tell me this was mailed on 11/30. In the meantime, I contacted the hospital and was told that the bill in question was for my daughter and that they were unable to send me a copy of the bill because it was not in my name but in the name of my daughter’s paternal grandmother. What are my options at this point Can I refuse to pay this since it is technically not by bill and they should be collecting from the person the bill was sent to, or am I obligated to pay this in full since it is my daughter even though I did not consent to her having any treatments?
      • My ExWife and I are planning on getting married again next year. My question is, will the alimony that I now pay to her each month stop? Is this something we have to agree on or does Kansas have a law that says my responsibility ends after we are remarried?
      • When I was young my Grandmother was given a painting by her boss. It was always intended for it to be passed down to my sister and I. My Grandfather died about 5 years ago. Now his third wife and her family are trying to keep the painting. This is all part of a trust set up for my sister and I. The bank that is in charge of the trust just so happened to misplace the one page in my Grandmothers Will that states that the painting is to go to my sister and I. Furthermore, the bank allowed my Grandfather to cash in shares and move money around from accounts that he was not authorized to do so. The Bank in charge of the trust does not seem to be looking after our best interests as beneficiaries. Do I have any legal rights in Kansas to go after the Bank for mismanagement of the Trust?
      • My son wants to come live with me. I want to know how old does he have to be to get to decide who he can live with.
